Course Subject: Introduction to Aviation Quality Systems 
Course Code: AQS
Course Aim: To provide information and basic knowledge to those interested or involved in the design and implementation of Aviation Quality Systems through:
-  understanding of the procedures and processes for planning, development and implementation of Quality Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9001: 2008 model,
- understanding the relationship between the ISO 9001: 2008 and EASA requirements for quality standards
- learning how to develop a quality culture to increase customer satisfaction
- learning how to apply quality and service best practices in aviation
- learning how to reduce costs using quality principles 
Participant Academic Background: Good knowledge of English Language is required (at least at a level of Cambridge First Certificate in English or higher) as well as a general educational background of at least secondary education level although studies at university level are recommended. Participant's ability to analyze information and take decisions on the basis of available data will be very supportive for successful completion of these courses.
Participant Working Experience: Existing employees in an aviation organisation shall be better benefited from attendance in this course.

Brief Course Syllabus: Topics of instruction & examination under this course include:
- Introduction to Quality culture, principles and process approach
- Presentation of ISO 9001: 2008 model and the ISO 9000 family of standards
- Presentation of relationship between the ISO 9001: 2008 and EASA quality management standards
- Quality, costs, process efficiency and service policies
- Customer service standards
- Organization for quality management & benefits for the organisation (Improved quality of offered services, quality control for the processes, Improving collaboration 
with customers – suppliers, troubleshooting and resolving problems, reduction of the final operating costs as a result of better organization and more efficient 
management of resources, Improving company image and market visibility, etc)
- Post Holder Responsibilities and Relationships
- Quality and service audits (Auditing Introduction, Creating an Audit Schedule, Considering Auditor Competencies)
- Methodologies and techniques for successful implementation of successful Quality Audits (Audit Processes, Effective Audit Communication, opening and closing Audit 
meetings, Report writing, Corrective action handling, Root cause analysis, Auditing and Developing Procedures, Management Evaluation)

- Internal Examination (Initial only)
- Issue of Certificate of Course Completion (in case of succesful completion of the course)

Training Location: Greece. In case of a different location additional course organisation fees apply, depending on number of participants and country of course implementation, to cover space and equipment rental, transportation, accommodation and living expenses of the trainer and any taxes as per national regulations.

Additional Information: This course can be equally useful for existing personnel of Airlines (in particular engaged in flight and ground operations and maintenance), Air Navigation Service Providers, Civil Aviation Authorities and Airports but also for those seeking employment in these organisations. Successful completion of each Course requires a score of 80% or higher in Course Completion Examination based on multiple choice or open ended questions as well as problem solving of issues raised in the form of short case studies. A maximum number of 3 attempts is allowed (initial and 2 retakes). Subject to successful completion the participant is issued a Letter of Course Completion with reference to instructed and examined topics.
