Course Subject: Aircraft General Knowledge
Course Code: AGENO
Course Aim: To provide participants with required knowledge in respective theoretical subjects in accordance with the European (EASA PART FCL) Regulations for Flight Crew Licensing. Also to prepare participants for the respective Theoretical Knowledge Examinations organized by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) in Greece as part of the requirements for the issue of Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) or Private Pilot Licence (PPL) for Aeroplanes.
Participant Academic Background: Good prior knowledge in Mathematics and Physics (at least completion at secondary education level - min 6 years of study) and English Language (at least at level of Cambridge First Certificate in English or higher) is required.

Brief Course Syllabus: 
AIRFRAME AND SYSTEMS, ELECTRICS, POWERPLANT AND EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT, System design, loads, stresses, maintenance, Airframe (Wings, tail surfaces and control surfaces), Hydraulics (Hydromechanics: basic principles, Hydraulic systems), Landing gear, wheels, tyres and brakes, Wheels and tyres, Flight controls, Secondary flight controls, Anti-icing systems, Fuel system (Piston engine), Electrics (Electrics: general and definitions, Batteries, Static electricity: general), 
Current Generation: production, distribution and use, Electric components, Distribution, Piston engines: General, Fuel, Carburettor or injection system, Air cooling systems, Lubrication systems, Ignition circuits, Mixture, Propellers, Performance and engine handling.
INSTRUMENTATION, Instrument and indication systems (Pressure gauge, Temperature sensing, Fuel gauge, Flow meter, Position transmitter, Tachometer), Measurement of aerodynamic parameters (Pressure measurement, Temperature measurement: aeroplane, Altimeter, Vertical speed indicator, Air speed indicator).
Magnetism: direct reading compass, Earth magnetic field, Direct reading compass, Gyroscopic instruments, Gyroscope: basic principles, Turn and bank indicator, Attitude indicator, Directional gyroscope.
Communication systems, Transmission modes: VHF, HF and SATCOM, Voice communication.
Alerting systems and proximity systems, Flight warning systems, Stall warning, Display units.

- Issue of Certificate of Course Completion (in case of succesful completion of the course)

Training Location: Greece. In case of a different location additional course organisation fees apply, depending on number of participants and country of course implementation, to cover space and equipment rental, transportation, accommodation and living expenses of the trainer and any taxes as per national regulations.

Additional Information: Successful completion of this Course requires a score of 80% or higher in Course Completion Examination based on multiple choice questions with one single correct answer. A maximum number of 3 attempts is allowed (initial and 2 retakes). Subject to successful course completion the participant is issued a Letter of Course Completion in the respective subject. A score report is also issued by the HCAA attesting the performance of the participant in the respective subject when he/she sits HCAA examination for this subject in Greece.
